Frequently Asked Questions

What makes MC² Fitness different?

MC² Fitness was built on real-life experience, not just qualifications. Having personally lost over 55kg and gone from a hospital bed with sepsis caused by gout to completing Ironman events, ultra-marathons, marathons and Hyrox competitions, I understand the challenges of making sustainable lifestyle changes and the dedication required to achieve long-term success.

Do I need to be fit before starting?

Absolutely not. Many of my clients start with little or no exercise experience. Whether your goal is weight loss, improving fitness, building confidence, or training for an event, programmes are tailored to your current ability and experience level.

How does online coaching work?

All coaching is delivered through the Everfit app. You'll receive a personalised training programme, exercise demonstrations, progress tracking, accountability and direct support to help you achieve your goals.

Will I receive a personalised programme?

Yes. Every programme is designed specifically around your goals, experience, lifestyle, available equipment, injuries, and schedule. There are no generic templates.

What if I have never used a gym before?

That's not a problem. I can create programmes for gym-based training, home workouts, outdoor fitness, running, or a combination of all three. Guidance is provided every step of the way.

Do you provide nutrition advice?

Yes. Nutritional guidance forms part of the coaching process. Rather than restrictive diets, I focus on sustainable eating habits that fit your lifestyle and support your goals.

How often will we communicate?

This depends on your coaching package. All clients receive regular support and accountability, with higher-tier packages including weekly check-ins and additional coaching calls.

How quickly will I see results?

Results vary depending on your starting point, goals and consistency. My focus is on helping clients achieve sustainable long-term results rather than quick fixes that are difficult to maintain.

Can you help me lose weight?

Yes. Weight loss and body composition change are among the most common goals I help clients achieve. My own journey involved losing over 55kg, so I understand both the physical and mental challenges involved.

Can you help me train for events?

Absolutely. Having completed half marathons, marathons, ultra-marathons, Ironman 70.3 events, Ironman Barcelona and Hyrox competitions, I can help prepare clients for a wide range of endurance and fitness events.

What equipment do I need?

This depends on your programme. I can create plans for fully equipped gyms, home gyms, or minimal equipment setups. We will work with whatever you have available.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Whilst there is no long-term contract, meaningful results take time. I recommend committing to at least 12 weeks to establish habits and begin seeing significant progress.

How do I get started?

Simply complete the enquiry form or book a free consultation. We'll discuss your goals, current fitness level and the coaching package best suited to your needs before building your personalised plan.

TESTIMONIALS

Matt helped me come back from a serious injury and take part in my first triathlon for years. He has a great knowledge of training, recovery and injury management, and always knew the best way to adapt things so I could keep progressing without overdoing it.

What I also really appreciated was his approach to the mental side of the journey. Matt draws on his own experiences of overcoming physical and mental challenges, which gives him a genuine understanding of what people are going through.

He’s approachable, encouraging and takes a real interest in the people he works with. You can tell he genuinely enjoys seeing others develop and achieve their goals. I always felt supported and believed in throughout the process.

I’d definitely recommend Matt to anyone looking to start their own fitness journey, whether you’re coming back from injury, training for an event, or just looking to improve your health and wellbeing.

Matt has helped me go from struggling to run 5km to completing an ultramarathon - something people dream of!

He is the complete trainer: realistic, honest and able to work around your lifestyle while still helping you reach your goals. No attention seeking or false promises, just genuine support, clear guidance and real results.

I’m extremely grateful for his help and would highly recommend him.

Big shout out to Matt for getting me in to running and hyrox based training. Its more than just a work out he helps in every way possible so you understand why and how to do it correctly he has helped me build real confidence in the gym. Thanks for the motivation and the wise words aka pain is only weakness leaving your body....

I've really enjoyed training with Matt.

The morning sessions are always varied, engaging and genuinely fun, which makes it so much easier to stay consistent.

He brings a great social element to the workouts, creating an atmosphere that's motivating and enjoyable rather than intimidating.

What stands out most is how knowledgeable he is. He takes the time to understand any injuries, niggles or limitations and tailors sessions accordingly, so I always feel challenged but safe.

He's incredibly encouraging and knows exactly how to keep you motivated, even on the days when you'd rather stay in bed.

Most importantly, he's made going to the gym feel much less daunting. I always feel comfortable, supported and confident during sessions, which has made a huge difference to my fitness journey.

I couldn't recommend him more highly.
